About the event
Join us for a super special seven-course wine dinner on Friday, May 4th featuring three Italian winemakers: Gianlorenzo Neri from Casanova di Neri; Sabatino di Properzio from La Valentina; and Armando Castagnedi from Tenuta Sant'Antonio.
Famous for its Brunellos, Casanova di Neri is located south of Sienna in Tuscany. The winery was called "one of the shining stars of Montalcino" by Wine Advocate and Wine Writer Robert Parker said they make "some of the most exciting modern-styled Brunellos in the zone."
Further north in Veneto, the Castagnedi brothers founded Tenuta Sant'Antonio in 1995. Since then, the winery has earned a reputation for producing superlative Amarone, along with premium and progressive Veneto DOC wines like Valpolicella, Ripasso and Soave from 100% estate-grown fruit.
To the southeast, nestled in the Pescara Hills on the central Adriatic Coast, La Valentina is at the helm of a new wave of artisan producers making top-quality wines in Abruzzo, once known for its industrial bulk wines. As Wine Spectator wrote: "In the past Montepulciano reds were often over-cropped and rustic, made mostly for the jug-wine market. But a few Abruzzo producers are dedicated to crafting quality Montepulciano reds; Di Properzio, owner of the La Valentina estate, is among them."
